Main Stream News Just Isn't News Anymore

Well I do blog from a number of locations, but most of those posts are in regards to my own mundane daily activities on a personal level.

I have one that relates to my battle with cancer, and my ongoing status as a cancer survivor, so I will give a shout out to Micheal Douglas a fellow throat cancer survivor, (although technically according to the scientific statistics we are not survivors until 5 years pass so that they can see if we develop cancer from the cancer treatments. Vicious cycle. Cancer) So, how are you doing these days Mr. Douglas ?
To all cancer people, Hang in there your happiness is a matter of mind over matter once you get beyond treatments. You need to have a strong mind as well as a sense of humor, because the cumulative effects from the cancer, radiation and chemo treatments last long after the doctors are done with you. I think right now one of Mr. Micheal Douglas's largest hurdles (besides not being able to taste properly) is coping with out working salivary glands. This is really much more difficult than one may think, especially because of the effects upon your airway and teeth. But hey Mike Douglas look at this way.... We never drool on our pillows anymore:)

I also have a blog about medicinal herbs and gardening, and somewhere I even have one about the kid groups that I used to do programs with (before I became so sick). Of course I also have a facebook:) and I am active in a number of forums, but I am so tired of complaining about the abilities and forthrightness of main stream media.

Everytime you get some hard hitting reporter or blogger, (Can you say Arianna Huffington) telling it like it is, or something like facebook that helps people trying to do good get the word around, and they get popular, they sell out. Before you know it there they are "with the program" and have signed the contract giving away their soul. Reporters promise all of the news they report will be approved by the network 1st (Can you say LINK TV's defector Fareed Zakharia?) , musicians may change the tone of their message, doctors given news anchor spots no longer ask the "right" questions, topics become taboo, social utility networks turn over monitoring and editing rights to unknown entities.

Suddenly everywhere you turn the same beat is being played, and everyone's steps are locked in place, and no one thinks or questions anything for themselves anymore.

I have decided to begin my own little News Blog, and little by little as time ( and the "monitors") allow I will move some stories here, as well as post my comments on the news as I see it.

That is why this blog has been named Broken News Today.

For Today March 27th, 2011 to get us rolling ...

Yes, Japan is still in crisis, the nuclear plants are still a danger. We have heard all about the "reactors" but thus far the real concerns as I discussed in this March 14th article are the the spent fuel rods and nuclear reactor waste pools, which are pussy footed around. They have even used NIMBY a few times because they think it sounds cute, but no one answers the REAL question... What about all the nuclear waste products? What are we going to do with 40+ years of this toxic crap that is just sitting around all these nuclear plants around the globe? This includes the US of course.
